    1. I think she will disappear because of her thoughts that go against the nations laws. That will make the government nervous, so they have to get rid of her. She will also change Montag's thought process about books. Montag is already changing.

  12. Preston asked if we are burning books in our society today. I think that may be the point of this book to show us the important role books have that we may over look.

    1. They are opposites. The black represents oppression and controlled thoughts, Clarice is white because she represents free thought and freedom.

  21. Preston brought up the question are we burning books in our society now and I believe that we are not burning books but just changing how we read books. Technology is changing everything around us and that includes books because we can get it on our phones and tablets so we're not burning books, we're just changing how we read them.

  22. on page 13 he says "As he stood there the sky over the house screamed. There was a giant ripping sound as if two giant hands had torn ten thousand miles of black lines in the seam. Montag was cut in half. He felt his chest chopped down and split apart". but really it was Mildrid who was in the machine. What do you think this symbloyzes in the story?

    2. Because houses are now fire proof so firefighters aren't needed. The government wants to control its people so they are burning books. They need people to burn them as a job so they have firemen.

  31. I think rain is symbolic. Sense Clarisse is crazy and talks about how fires were once put out instead of starting, maybe this could represent change.

  32. After he sets the first fire in the book, it describes how he has pain in his cheeks the entire night from smiling so hard. I think later in the book he will switch sides and have that same pain from guilt not happiness.

  44. In this section of Fahrenheit 451, when Montag is speaking to Clarisse. On page 10, Clarisse asks Montag, "Are you happy?" This question sparks Montag's mind and sets into motion a festering idea that maybe he isn't actually happy. Clarisse in this section of the book represents change. Specifically speaking, change in Montag. Without Clarisse, Montag would not have ever had the idea that something was amiss in his life, therefore would have never changed himself. His change can be seen on a quote made shortly after the question when Montag says, "Of course I'm happy. What does she think? I'm not? he asked the quiet rooms. He stood looking up at the ventilator grille in the hall and suddenly remembered that something lay hidden behind the grille, something that seemed to peer down at him now." From this quote, it is apparent that Montag has realized that his life is not perfect.
