  3. Was this a good way to end the book?

    1. I think so because it wrapped things up very quickly and effectivly.

    2. I think it was a great way to end the book because a new civilization can be built.

  4. On page 156 montag says "Millie, Millie. My wife, My wife. Poor Millie poor Millie" why does montag still care about her when she betrayed him.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Even though she betrayed him, he still had feelings for her. Just like if a family member lied to you, you would still love them right?
      -Matt Myers.

  5. Since the city has been destroyed, do you think that people will try to rebuild it?

  6. Did the kids in the car jump the random guy for no reason or was it actually because they thought it was Montag? Because the kids are really violent there so I could see it being for no reason.

  7. Why do you think we don't hear more about the war?

  8. Do you think we are going down this path with all of the technology because we never really read books?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I do because I don't know anyone who picks up a book when they have free time outside of school or besides having a reason to like a class project.

      Delete
    2. No, because even though we have highly sophisticated technology the American people as a whole would never follow through with this. They'd rebel.
      -Matt Myers.

  9. Why do you think the author ended the book this way?

    1. I think the author ended the book in this way to leave you hanging with questions at the end.

  10. Do you think the city will go back to how it was before it blew up or will there be change?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I think with all of the events that have been occurring the author wants us to believe there will be change, otherwise the book would have no meaning.

      Delete
    2. I believe that the city will not go back to the way it was because one reason might be that there's a ton of radiation leftover after that bomb, second, people will not allow it again after they have experienced it before.
      -Matt Myers.

  11. 155, "... For the customers who might come by in later years, some with clean and some with dirty fingers." Which would they categorize Montag as? And is this an indirect reference to the work the firemen were doing compared to the people harboring books?

  12. On page 159 why does Montag yell Mildred when the bomb strikes. Why does he do this?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. He did this because Mildred was still in the city when the bombs hit.

  13. Do you think the Phoenix is like the Phoenix in harry Potter? In the means that in Harry potter Dumbledore's phoenix lays an egg and then burst's into flames, then repeat's. Is this like the city? Will the city be reborn?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I think that that is the whole point of the phoenix because the phoenix burns and then comes back to life. The city goes up in flame and will soon be reborn.

  14. "Millie and I. That's where we met! I remember now. Chicago." page 160 This quote shows that Montag remembers where him and Mildred met, does this show Montag still has a love for her? Why would he just remember this and how does this play an important role in this book?

  15. What does the bomb symbolize?

    1. A starting over point to change all the problems they had before.

    2. The desrtuction of humanity

    3. I think it symbolizes rebellion because it can change a country forever and if done right it has enormous power.

  16. On page 160, the book says, "I remember. Montag clung to the earth. I remember. Chicago. Chicago a long time ago. Millie and I. That's where we met." During the most troubling time of his life so far, Montag remembers where he met Mildred. He is changing and the world is changing. With this change comes new thoughts and memories. Do you think that there was something in the city that effected Montag in such a way that he lost all of the memories that made him who he is?

    ReplyDelete
  17. on page 160," Chicago. Chicago a long time ago. Millie and I. That's were we met!" Why do you think people remember stuff too late?

  18. I think destroying the city was a good thing to do because its almost like a clean start. Would there be any other ways to end it and still have a clean start?

    1. Overthrow the government and rewrite the laws/regulations that the previous government setup.
      -Matt Myers.

  19. Was Montag mad that the city was destroyed and did he care that his long time wife died int the fire or was he really not too concerned about that because he would rater save the books?

  20. Are the deaths of millions of people worth the renewal of society?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yes, if those people weren't brave enough to stand up and take charge. Either "lead, follow, or get out of the way." - Thomas Paine. Montag was a leader.
      -Matt Myers.

    2. or was it for the renewal of books?

  21. Do you think that Montag remembered that He met Mildred in Chicago because he thought that his life was going to end as well?

    1. I think he was so shocked and sad by the cities destruction that he couldn't really make a sound.

  26. Why would the Phoenix (city) not letrilly like its a bad thin but why would they just kill all off all of the people that are against everything they need and then re populate and create a more functioning society that way they would not have to go through this any more

    ReplyDelete
  27. On page 164 "But even when we had the books on hand, a long time ago,we didn't use what we got out of them." is this saying that books would be useless even if they could read them?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Do you think that the book would of had a different outcome if Clarisse was still alive?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. yes, she could have helped Montag do more and make books and hide books.

      Delete
    2. Yes. However, Montag wouldn't have done what he did. He wouldn't have been motivated to stand up for what he believed in.

      Delete
    3. It would have, but I think that it would change in a negative way because the death of Clarisse started the whole storyline

      Delete
    4. Yes, it would have been different but I feel she would put it in his mind to do the right thing. Be it going against the law or not commiting murder etc. He would do what is right.

  29. If there were no war or bombing would the book people try to revolt? What was their plan without a bomb?

  30. Why is it he chooses a river to escape to? Is it by coincidence that he chooses water to save him?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Well the water still didn't save him because the hound was willing to chase him down the river its where the river took him is what truly cleansed him of the chase.

  32. On page 156 Montag says "My wife, my wife. Poor Millie..." does this and the part where Montag realizes where they met show that he cared for Millie still?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yes, i think even though montag was hurt and for that matter, betrayed by her, i think that he loved her, though he didnt know what that ment and because he lived with her. i think he still wanted to be with her.

      Delete
    2. I think he still cared and wanted to have a strong relationship, but Mildred wasn't willing to take the time and effort to do that.

  33. When he says when we reach the city. Does this mean that there is going to make the heart of the city change?

  34. Faber says at one point that the hound always wins but in this section we learn that it just makes it look like the hound always wins. How many people have escaped the hound?

  35. Going back little to my previous comment when it says in the book "the only difference is that we know are mistakes" do they just not want to fix there society because im pretty sure after time the society would get fed up with it and change so maybe the society really likes the way they live

    ReplyDelete
  36. Why would the author make everything bckwards at the end? Is it to show that the city has truly changed?

  37. Destruction seems to be a big part of the ending of the book, is the destruction necessary to get the same out of the book? If no, what are some other ways?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Going off of what Preston said I don't think we are going down the same path because I think we have more control so we wont let it go as far as they did.

    ReplyDelete
  39. On the top of page 149 it says, "A voice cried, 'There's Montag! The search is done.' The innocent man stood bewildered, a cigarette burning in his hand. He stared at the Hound, not knowing what it was." Why do they pick a man who isn't Montag? Is keeping everything exciting, but with a true conclusion what society wants?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Why do we use technology so much? Is it because it is necessary like Daylon said? Or is it because we want to?

    ReplyDelete
  41. On page 162 Montag thought "And across the world, thought Montag, how many other cities dead?" Did other cities get blown up? are they really the only couple survivors?
